Hi Dr. Creanor, I joined Sleepio about two month ago. My problem now is that my sleep is not predictable, although I follow the exact routine everyday. What should I do make my sleep more or less consistent? Thank you.

    Hi there,
Thanks for your question. Sometimes, even although our bedtime routines are set in stone, it can be what happens during the day that sets the tone for how good or bad our sleep is that night. It might be worth tracking what's happening during the daytime hours to see if there is any pattern there? Also, it might be worth tuning into what the mind is doing at night time – negative thoughts have a huge impact on how our sleep is. Noting them down and using the techniques in Sleepio to challenge them (do this during the day to avoid overthinking at night time) can help…

Hi Dr. Creanor thanks for your reply. I always worry about my sleep during daytime and have fears of not sleeping at night. What are your suggestions for me to overcome the worries and fears?

I think that sounds as if it could be a big factor here, then. There is a technique within the programme that helps you to challenge your thinking – try this and note down any difficult/stressed thoughts that come up during the day and dedicate 30 mins a day (in the afternoon – not too close to bedtime) to work through them. Also note down any good nights' sleep, so that you start to realise that they are not all bad. Hope this helps….
