It’s been quite the week at Sleepio HQ and it’s only Wednesday!

So, we’re very excited to announce that we won the Wired Health Bupa Start Up competition at the Wired Health event yesterday. More info here . We were especially chuffed because the other start-ups there were awesome too. It was an amazing day and inspiring to see all the incredible innovation that’s happening in healthcare.

In other news, Big Health - our mothership – announced Series A funding this week. Sleepio is the first digital behavioural medicine programme from Big Health. Billions of people worldwide are suffering from problems for which we have proven behavioural solutions, yet most people can’t access anything other than pills. So our aim at Big Health is to make behavioural medicine accessible, affordable and usable – providing effective alternatives for those with problems such as insomnia and anxiety, by using tracked data and applying best practice from consumer technology.

As Peter, our co-founder, said yesterday: “We’re on the cusp of a revolution. I believe one way or another tracking health will become a normal part of everyday life. It gives us opportunities to build interventions we’ve never had the opportunity to consider before, tailored to a person’s profile. That’s nothing less than tipping behavioural science on its head, which is typically constrained by delivery — face to face interventions once a week or so. Building those evidence-based behavioural interventions is what we’re engaged in.”

We’d like to sincerely thank everyone who has supported us so far and we’re looking forward to the next few months… we’ve got more exciting news coming soon!
